The Aranyik Pra Billhook is ideal for groundsman, forestry workers, tropical and subtropical farmers dealing with fast growing green vegetation or soft wood saplings, The weight is on average 2.3 lbs, the delivery is by chopping to the center of the blade, soft material can not slide forward or back, it will be cut by either hooked end.

The blade can be gripped to use as a rustic spokeshave. The handle is 6.5" long making it a bit more than a 1 1/2 hands lengths, most people should be able to swing with two hands when needed.

The center is 2" wide, and the tip and heel hook are both 3" wide. The edge is 14", but the striking area for hardwood is <6". Because of limited hardwood striking area, the blade is best used in combination with a chainsaw or saw during forestry work for branches over 6" in diameter. A sample picture below will show you how a comfortable chopping diameter that this blade handles easily.

The overall length is 21.5" and the thickness if 3/16" differentially hardened 5160 Carbon Spring Alloy.

The sheath is made from 9 oz. water buffalo Leather and vegetable tanned welts. The sheath is roomy and easy to insert and remove blade while on waist. The locking system is a 1/2" water buffalo strap which loops through two rings on the top of the sheath. This pulls the blade forward and it is a very good secure fit as the blades hooks lock into the welt. It can easily be locked and unlocked while on the waist. The bottom of the sheath has a ring as well to use with the top rings to form a shoulder carry system. Shoulder strap not included but available custom made. The sides of the sheath include 2 strap 'rings' to weave in leg straps or attach other gear or attach the sheath to your gear. The bottom of the sheath has a blow out hole, where dried mud, water, can be blown out or fall out naturally. The leg strap is included and made to order. In summary the sheath is a culmination of years of research into leather material, thread diameter, locking system, and carrying system, boiling down the necessary quality elements into the cheapest price possible. The blade has over 12 years of research into the optimum shape for usage but also for manufacturing into achieving a consistently durable blade with rare chance of defect.
